  The Temple of Artemis (Greek: Ἀρτεμίσιον, Artemision), also known less precisely as Temple of Diana, was a Greek temple dedicated to a goddess Greeks identified as Artemis that was completed, in its most famous phase, around 550 BC at Ephesus. Though the monument was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, only foundations and sculptural fragments of the temple remain. There were previous temples on its site, where evidence of a sanctuary dates as early as the Bronze Age. The whole temple was made of marble except for the roof. The temple antedated the Ionic immigration by many years. Callimachus, in his Hymn to Artemis, attributed the origin of the temenos at Ephesus to the Amazons, whose worship he imagines already centered upon an image. In the seventh century the old temple was destroyed by a flood. The construction of the "new" temple, which was to become known as one of the wonders of the ancient world, began around 550 BC. It was a 120-year project, initially designed and built by the Cretan architect Chersiphron and his son Metagenes, at the expense of Croesus of Lydia. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus or Tomb of Mausolus[1] (in Greek, Μαυσωλεῖον τῆς Ἁλικαρνασσοῦ) was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire, and Artemisia II of Caria, his wife and sister.   Seymour Duncan makes some amazing pickups, but I must say, these are by far my favorite from him. The "Antiquity" Series of pickups from Seymour Duncan are some of the few pickups that Seymour winds himself, and sound amazing. Seymour winds these pickups to exact specifications of the original Gibson Patent Applied For pickups. They use alnico 2 magnets for a warm, rich, and articulate tone, the magnets are also slightly demagnetized to give it the tone of a 50 year old pickup that has slowly lost some magnetism. They are wound to Seymour's specs with 42 gauge enamel purple wire, just like the originals. Seymour Duncan does his own little twist on these pickups by giving them just a little bit more output to really make these pickups sing.
